Primary Function:

Our client is looking for an energetic individual who will be a skilled and proactive member of the facilities maintenance team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and servicing the buildings, grounds, shop tools, machinery, and equipment at their Fairview facility. You will also be responsible for acquiring, organizing, and maintaining maintenance supplies and serve as a primary contact for facility related issues.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

• Applying mechanical and construction skills to inspect, adjust, and repair buildings, grounds, and test equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Keep assigned regulatory records and reports current and properly documented.
• Oversee outside contractors to ensure safe work practices and quality results.
• Serve as primary contact for facility related issues in absence of a supervisor.
• Will occasionally need to adjust working hours to accommodate need for repairs during evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

• High School degree with emphasis on Industrial Arts
• 4 years of related experience as maintenance/mechanic, building trades, industrial maintenance, or as mobile equipment mechanic.
• General working knowledge of building construction, mechanics, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical circuitry.
• Basic industrial construction and fabrication skills: proficient with welding processes and common shop power tools.
• Basic computer skills and good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 years of journeyman level experience as a maintenance/mechanics and/or building trades, industrial maintenance, or as mobile equipment mechanic.
• Sound working knowledge of industrial construction, mechanics, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and electrical circuitry.
• Systematic troubleshooting skills.
• Good fabrication skills: proficient with welding processes and common shop power tools.
• Intermediate computer skills and good verbal and written communication skills
• Supervision, leadership, and training experience.
• Outside contractor and vendor selection and utilization experience.

Work Environment

Standard machine shop environment with several types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
