Ability to repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems. Read and understand blueprints at a level normally acquired through completion of technical high school and up to six months of technical training beyond high school.

Experience Required:

Five years’ experience working on mechanical equipment and electrical systems in a hospital or other large commercial setting, including advanced trouble-shooting experience with HVAC, boiler, electrical and/or plumbing issues.

Education Required:

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Other:

Analytical skills necessary in order to make calculations for installation and repair of equipment.

Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to fifty percent of work time when observing equipment, disassembling devises, making repairs and maintaining logs.

Ability to lift objects weighing up to eighty pounds for up to ten percent of work time.

Position is considered an Exposure Control Level II, which means there is some exposure to blood and body fluids.

A background check is required for this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal hospital environment with occasional (up to thirty percent of work time) exposed to loud noise from machinery and to hazards of electrical shock or burns from heated equipment.

Work is regularly (up to fifty percent of work time) messy due to grease and oil from machinery.

Some exposure to blood and body fluids. Exposure Control Level ll
