Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Electrician repairs, installs, and maintains electrical and communication equipment at all treatment facilities. Additionally, operates, repairs, and maintains all other treatment equipment including pumps, motors, chemical feed equipment, flow meters, generators, etc. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting and driving the Company’s Values, RIGHT: Respect, Integrity, Growth, Honesty and Teamwork.

Work Performed:

  • Troubleshoot electrical and control systems for proper operation to ensure the job is complete.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, replacement and repairs on all electrical, mechanical, HVAC and digital/analog controls equipment as assigned.
  • Have knowledge of all hand tools needed to complete task assigned and knowledge of various power tools and the ability to use them in a safe manner.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical and communication wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Ability to do basic site work and use construction equipment and tools in a safe manner.
  • Maintains instrumentation including: Flow and pressure meters and recording devices, telephone transmitters and receivers, chemical release detection equipment and computer equipment
  • Maintains chemical feed equipment including chlorinators, and chemical metering pumps.
  • Knowledge and use of computer skills, including word, excel and outlook. Be able to utilize the enterprise work asset management (WAM) system efficiently.
  • Attends both in-house and manufacturer/vendor sponsored training courses and seminars as required.
  • Assume on-call responsibilities after a suitable training period and work short notice overtime as required.
    • NOTE: Some mandatory overtime will be required as necessary to maintain facilities operation.
  • Performs duties on weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Performs all related duties as required by supervisor.
  • Adheres to and promotes the Company safety policy and practices as it pertains to the job.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' Experience in industrial or process control environment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, including ladder logic
  • Possess knowledge in all aspects of electrical and mechanical safety
  • Completion of a four year electrical apprenticeship program accredited and approved by the United States Department of Labor.
  • Must have the ability to obtain T-1 license within three years of date of employment.
