Maintenance Assistant- Full Time

As our center continues to grow and thrive, the focus on safety and environmental services is more important than ever. To support these functions, our center seeks a Maintenance Assistant to aid in the overall maintenance of the facility, inspect equipment and perform repairs, and ensure a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Replacing float units in facility toilets and washers, and unclogging drains and sink traps
• Replacing/Cleaning filters in AC/heating units, washers/dryers, vents, and exhaust fans
• Repairing windows, doors, stoves, washers, dryers, floor machines and other items as assigned
• Replacing electrical systems, equipment and outlets
• Repairing beds, wheelchairs, walkers, grab bars, and water/bath sprays
• Painting, as assigned
• Building/Constructing shelves, racks, tables, benches, foot stools, and bulletin boards, as requested
• Maintaining a supply of replacement parts for facility equipment and current catalogs of parts and supplies, and ensuring all tools are in proper working order at all times
• Assisting in routine maintenance inspections throughout the building
• Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance/Safety Officer

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must have a strong knowledge/ability to use tools and equipment in repair and basic construction, in addition to possessing a practical understanding of plumbing, electrical, alarm and AC/heating systems. Candidates must have experience in a maintenance or related role, a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent.
