Job description

This position/person will assist in carrying out the maintenance tasks for 119 bed Skilled Nursing Facility and 24 apartment/cottages in a retirement community setting in Cherryville, NC.

Attend and participate in annual facility in-service trainings as scheduled -OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Life Safety, etc...Assist in maintaining MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for hazardous chemicals through out facility; Ensure work areas through out facility are maintained in a safe and attractive manner; conduct daily and routine inspections of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained.

Working Conditions include but not limited to:
works through out the facilty (i.e power rooms, resident rooms, therapy rooms, dietary, nursing, etc...); move intermittently during working hours; subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reschedule maintenance activities; be involved with residents and personnel and visitors, government agencies/personnel under all conditions and circumstances; may work beyond normal working hours on weekends and holidays; is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.); is subject to exposure infectious waste, disease, conditions, etc...(TB, AIDS and Hep B viruses);

Education: must possess a minimum of a high school education or its equivalent;

This position will report to Maintenance Supervisor to ensure facility is maintained to the standards set forth by Sanstone Health.
