POSITION INFO:

This position is in the Nacogdoches Machine Shop and reports to the Cell Supervisor. This position may be responsible for operating CNC, conventional machines or working at assembly stations. This includes setting up machines and assembly stations in a timely manner to bring product to print specifications. Computer and production experience are important. This positions also require good mathematical skills and the ability to work under pressure. Understanding of and experience with lean manufacturing principles a plus.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Daily housekeeping activities.
  • Daily safety checks for unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Work closely with supervision to fill their customer’s needs.
  • Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines.
  • Identify and replace dull or broken tooling.
  • Set up assembly stations.
  • Assembly and test parts.
  • Perform required quality checks.
  • Promote lean manufacturing in all processes.
  • Any other assigned duties as specified by the supervisor

EXPERIENCE:

One year Machine Operator experience preferred.

EDUCATION:

High School Education or GED preferred.

TRAINING AND SKILLS:

  • Use of gages & measuring equipment
  • Must have good math skills
  • Read blueprints & design drawings
  • Teamwork/Collaboration
  • Read and understand setup sheets
  • Planning and Organizing
  • Must be able to work with close tolerances
  • Individual Leadership/Self-motivated
  • Have demonstrated mechanical aptitude

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:


  • Ability to climb stair occasionally.
  • Must exhibit NIBCO’s Core Values.
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk.
  • Must complete an internal application.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to bend, squat, & lift < 35 pounds frequently
  • Ability to move rolling product cart > 150 pounds occasionally.

This is a manufacturing environment with minimal climate control. A minimum of 40 hours / week is required.
