Job Description
- High school diploma required with associates degree or higher preferred
- Experience working with young children
- Experience assisting in program implementation
- Ability to work with professional staff
- Outstanding preparation and/or experience may be substituted for some of the above qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the educational and social development of the student under the direction of the classroom teacher(s). Carry-over of therapy routines and/or strategies of therapists. (including donning hand splints and feeding daily after training with the OT) Assisting in bathrooming / toileting needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plan for the student and monitor progress. Provides the appropriate level of physical assistance to student and assist student participation in all activities. Demonstrates an understanding of the general curriculum as well as the expanded core curriculum. Assist in providing a language and communication model based on the individual needs of the student (iPad). Lift, position, and transfer student safely (approx. 50 lbs). Assist with brace management as indicated by the Physical Therapist, as well as carryover positioning, stretching, equipment use including but not limited to stander and walker. Assist student in the general education classroom for social opportunities. Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned. Hours: 7:45AM - 2:15PM
