Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Lowboy Operator for our PA Road Construction Division to service our Stroudsburg and Lake Ariel area projects.

What You'll Get To Do

• Daily pre-operational service & safety checklist for mobile equipment.
• Operate a tractor and lowboy trailer to haul equipment to jobsites. Must be able to operate all types of equipment for loading and unloading. Must know proper tie-down laws to secure equipment to trailer.
• May use other equipment or perform other duties, dependent on abilities, when not driving lowbed (tri-axle dump truck for deliveries, water truck, service truck, sweeper, etc.).
• Minor shop work as needed (brake adjustments, cleaning equipment, general repairs).
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures; assist with physical inspections of plant property/departments.

What We Are Looking For

• Prefer high school diploma or general education (GED)
• Maintain a valid commercial driver’s license, Class A, medical card, and haz-mat and tanker endorsement preferred
• Must be able to read maps, follow directions, and follow instructions of foreman.
• Must be safety conscious since the position often requires working alone.
• Must be dependable as paving production depends on equipment deliveries and moves are often made in early morning or after working hours.
• Ability to work different extended hours, and/or overtime
• Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i. e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 50 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
