LaFata Contract Services (LCS), an Anser Advisory Company, has been providing Project and Construction Management support in the electric and gas utility industries. Our Program, Project, and Construction Managers, Engineers, and Utility Support Personnel provide oversight, work activity coordination, and technical support to deliver utility projects in Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Customers Electrical Safety Rules on site, including the safe system of work
• Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables.
• Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.
• Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security and integrity of the HV network.
• Contribute to proactive management, good coordination and communication between all parties and that the process works effectively.
• Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages.

Tasks

• Ensure compliancy with and managing of Customers Electrical Safety Rules
• Safety coordination in electrical matters
• Act as senior authorized person
• Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers
• Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams
• Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters.
• Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management
• Manage and coordinate HV/MV/LV commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with National Grid and attend commissioning panel meetings.
• Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules.
• Check method statements for electrical matters.
• Implement and provide training programs for relevant staff according to the rules
• Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters.
• Assist different departments when required.
• Attendance at FAT and SAT tests if required.

Deliverables

• Input to the project commissioning management manual and related documents (including pre-commissioning and commissioning quality plans)
• Participation in different audits
• Reports from FAT & SAT on the different high voltage equipment’s.
• Onsite check of switching programs
• Participation in the planning of resource and work activities
• Participation in authorizations and assessments of new candidates
• Deliver inputs to the design phase of the project on technical aspects.

Qualification/Requirements

Requirements 34-66kV Senior Authorized Person

• Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
• Minimum 3 months of working experience within offshore substations systems.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience within Wind turbines.
• Complete and up to date GWO courses and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb) Requirements 132-230kV Senior Authorized Person
• Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
• Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable
• Complete and up to date GWO and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb)
• Minimum 1 year of working experience within onshore substations systems.
• Minimum 6 months of working experience within offshore substations systems.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience within wind turbines. Requirements 275-400kV Senior Authorized Person
• Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorization scope.
• Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable
• Minimum 3 year of working experience within onshore substations systems.
• Complete and up to date GWO and HUET with CA-EBS if required by site (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/264lb)

Physical Requirements:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets LCS Requirements
