Southern Industrial is looking for a Logistics Manager to work out of our Greensboro, NC office.


The Logistics Manager examines short-term and long term staffing needs for the organization. To carry out their duties, the Lead Dispatcher must often move beyond day-to-day tactical roles and provide high-level strategic planning for the manpower needs of the organization. The Lead Dispatcher is highly organized with strong follow through skills, articulate, multi-tasker, and has the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ideal incumbent will have strong interpersonal skills, be reliable, focused, and has experience maintaining exceptional relationships in the organization. This position will report to the Business Unit Manager of Raleigh.

  • Take inside sales calls that come into the office.
  • Oversee and Maintain Manpower schedule.
  • Assist BUM’s with dispatching and moving employees from project to project
  • Forecasting staffing needs
  • Engage with Workforce development to develop skills and help with employee training programs
  • Generation of reports showing production volume to assess future and current needs
  • Collection of data and analysis to improve business operations in one or more departments
  • Changing work schedules to optimize performance
  • Collect all information needed to schedule a job.
  • Maintain communication with the other dispatchers, Business Unit Managers, Project Mangers, and Recruiters when scheduling a job.
  • Maintain several spreadsheets on a daily and monthly basis for reporting purposes.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and how to improve the overall dispatch process of people and equipment.
  • Determine and set up training, Drug testing and certifications as required by clients
  • Provide on-going employee feedback and evaluations
  • Participate and align with company sponsored leadership initiatives
  • Support Payroll needs by tracking and reporting/ monitoring employee hours, time and attendance performance as needed
  • Update notes for work orders in the system for tracking purposes
  • Maintain a weekly open report for management.
  • Participate and help with the Random program
  • Participate in the Return to Work Process as needed
  • Be able to communicate efficiently with workforce and management teams
  • Strong communication and computer skills.

  • Ability to use office equipment i.e. Fax, copier, scanner.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with dispatching
  • Self-starter and someone who can prioritize and process information quickly pertaining to emergency and non- emergency related calls.
  • Experience in Management is a plus.
  • Someone works in a professional manner at all times and speaks well with clients and employees.
  • Available to work in emergency on call situations.
  • Multi-tasker and team player
  • Can adapt to pressure situations
  • Excellent Time Management skills
