Logistics Analyst
Job description
The Logistics Analyst will be responsible for developing and managing analytics for the company’s international and domestics logistics network. This person will oversee logistics processes and product delivery by tracking and reviewing invoices, shipment status, delivery costs and delivery route activity for all modes of transportation. In addition, will support the procurement of logistics service providers for all modes of transportation utilized by PrimeSource. The Logistics Analyst will report directly to the Vice President of Logistics
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collects, interprets, and analyzes various types of logistics data including availability of product, reliability of transport and delivery, and other data related to product supply chain management, sourcing, and distribution.
- Maintains database(s) of logistics information.
- Tracks product flow from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring inventory and shipment vehicles.
- Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Reviews and analyzes transportation costs and delivery processes, inventory issues such as back orders, and other fulfillment metrics.
- Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.
- Leads RFP tool management
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of shipping and distribution channels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficiency with Tableau and/or PowerBI is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
- Must be detail oriented, highly reliable and efficient
- Hard-working, dedicated and focused on achieving results
- Ability to work independently as well as with partners in a dynamic environment
- Enthusiastic team player always willing to assist other and support the team
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- An ability to effectively communicate activity at a DC level to Corporate Levels is required
This position supports a national practice, and some travel will be required (15%)
Must be willing to work on-site 3 days a week
