The Locksmith reports to the Operations Manager, performs routine maintenance on all locks and lock system components in all campus buildings.
1. Maintain locks and all lock system components in all buildings on campus. 2. Repair locks, door closures, hand sets, furniture locks, etc. 3. Set combinations on vaults and safes. 4. Maintain complete set of University keys. 5. Cut keys for use by other departments on campus. 6. Design and install complete lock systems in new buildings or replace existing systems in older buildings. 7. Establish and maintain an inventory of required trade materials. 8. Maintain complete key records and provide pricing of daily work orders. 9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
A high school diploma is required. One to three years of technical school or an accredited apprenticeship program is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Five years of experience in the Locksmith field is desirable.
