Gerken Materials is currently hiring a full time Loader Operator for our sand and gravel operation in Addison, Michigan.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Loading customer trucks and trailers using a CAT 980M Wheel Loader.
• Performing general maintenance on equipment (greasing cleaning, filling out inspection reports, etc.).
• Working with other employees to perform general plant maintenance, repairs and other work where needed.
• Operating other types of equipment on the property such as a skid steer, fuel truck, water truck, haul truck, etc.
• Working safely while following safety rules and MSHA regulations.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment helpful.
• Mechanical experience helpful.
• Appropriate communication and customer service skills necessary to effectively interact with customers, employees, and other guests to the property.
• Willingness to learn, having a positive attitude and being a team player highly desired.
• Ability to work extended hours (including Saturday) during the busy season.
