DNV Digital Solution s Pipeline Product Center is seeking a Liquid Pipeline Hydraulic Product Engineer to join our team. The Client Support group is responsible for supporting and training clients of our Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) and Synergi Liquid (previously Synergi Water) software around the world. We value engineers who are driven to learn and grow, whether that means independently pursuing new knowledge or actively seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues.

This position may be based out of our Mechanicsburg, PA or Katy (Houston), TX office.

What you'll do

  • In a flexible learning environment, develop a deep understanding of our domain and the technical skills required to excel in liquid pipeline hydraulics.
  • Utilize liquid domain knowledge to identify and implement solutions to benefit our business and enhance the overall experience of our clients.
  • Collaborate with our development team in defining and implementing new features and functionality, as well as ensuring the quality and reliability of our product through manual testing and validation.
  • Explore and be curious on how pipeline hydraulic software can be used best in real-world scenarios
  • Responsible for providing timely and thorough responses to technical inquiries from end-user clients arriving via phone or email
  • Educate users on how to optimize their software experience by conducting multi-day classroom training in our offices or at client sites
  • Work closely with other DNV subject matter experts to solve complex client questions
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their technical questions have been solved
  • Write FAQs on common modeling/engineering questions you are hearing from clients
  • Find innovative ways to allow clients to receive self-help support, including creation of short videos or eLearning courses
  • Build the DNV professional network by developing and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Learn and grow your competence in a variety of technical disciplines and be involved in innovative projects

Position Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or Civil)
  • Working knowledge or significant academic experience in: pipeline hydraulic modeling, reservoir simulation, fluid mechanics or more general pipeline engineering
  • Knowledge of steady-state and transient hydraulics a plus
  • Experience with DNV s Synergi Liquid, Synergi Gas, Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) or another pipeline hydraulic simulation software a plus
  • Surge modeling experience desired
  • Python or other scripting tool experience a plus
  • Excellent ability to prioritize work while juggling multiple tasks & client request'Strong interpersonal skills and genuine desire to help customers solve their software question
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Willingness and ability to travel inside and outside of the United States, up to 10% Strong written and verbal English communication skills
