The software mission is to maintain and update software applications and services supporting the Army’s accessions mission.
The team environment is a group of approximately 60 people, project team leads, business systems analysts and software developers, all working remotely, communicating through MS Teams, Outlook email and cell phones, working in small groups on ~70 applications and services supporting the commands responsible for providing and inprocessing new accessions (Soldiers).

Remote Senior Liferay developer to serve on a team supporting our customer, the U.S. Army Human Resources Command at Fort Knox, KY. The developer will be a part of a close team that is maintaining, enhancing and upgrading Liferay applications and in an enterprise environment. As part of a team, you will participate in design, development, threat modeling and cybersecurity and fielding of enterprise solutions to support the customer.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Under general direction, designs, develops, troubleshoots, debugs, and implements Liferay code with Java customization.
• Customize out of the box Liferay code using Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, and XML for software components of the web application.
• Works with project team members to develop the concept, interface design, and architecture of the websites
• Responsible for interface implementation
• Integrates application with back-end databases
• Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the integration of new products per production and client requirements
• Designs, writes, and maintains unit tests such as JUnit, Jasmine, SoapUI, or Selenium

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6+ years of software development experience developing Liferay applications and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or a Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience; four (4) additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
• Experience with Java Design patterns (MVC, DAO, Singleton, Factory, etc.)
• Experience with RDBMS such as Oracle, SQLServer, Sybase or similar databases
• Experience using version control tools such as Git
• Experience with software development processes such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall
• Experience supporting JVMs in Unix/Linux/Windows environments
• Experience using modern UI technologies such as Angular, React, and Bootstrap
• Experience using build tools such as Maven, Gradle, and npm
• Experience mentoring junior developers

REQUIRED CERITIFICATIONS:

• Must be CompTIA Security+ certified prior to start date
• Must be able to obtain computing environment certification or qualifying training, relevant to the contract, within the first 90 days of employment
