How you make a difference:
The Licensed Mental Health Clinician Trainer DSH is responsible for the clinical and educational training component of the Restoration of Competency (RTC) program. As a licensed, Masters prepared clinician (LMFT/LCSW/LPC), they will teach basic legal concepts using cognitive remedial or restructuring techniques and provide therapeutic support to patients to foster a stable mental status. The Clinician/Trainer works under the direction of the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Program Manager (PM), or higher licensed health professional and adheres to all applicable standards, State and Federal rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to DSH and corporate policies and procedures for providing clinical and educational training for competency restoration program.
  • Conduct individual and group psycho-educational sessions for mentally ill and incompetent to stand trial (IST) patients.
  • Work with multidisciplinary team to provide individualized treatment plans, facilitate discharge planning and aftercare plans, and document findings in patient records.
  • Provide training and education through creative and multimodal formats, such as experiential methods and educational components related to legal concepts and court proceedings.
  • Assist in IMO/ALJ processes, job shadowing, and orientation/training of new employees as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
  • Master’s Degree with associated licensure as a LMFT, LCSW, LPC or related discipline
Experience
  • Preferred, one + years’ experience as an LMFT, LCSW, LPC or related discipline
Licenses/Certifications
  • LMFT, LPC, or LCSW (preferred)
Compliance
  • Must obtain and maintain security clearance throughout the course of employment.
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
