- Authorize in-build redlines and recommend changes to improve hardware designs, and their subsequent fabrication and assembly methods for improved near term outcomes.
- Investigate root causes of routine hardware discrepancies, drive disposition approvals when design authority rests outside the manufacturing engineering team.
- Take ownership of preventative and sustainable corrective actions to improve long term outcomes for hardware fabrication, assembly, and test based on patterns of chronic fallout.
- Drive design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA) into product designs as chronic discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Contribute to fast turn-around activities for interrupted hardware identified as discrepant.
- Participate in the creation of Production Readiness Reviews that have addressed stabilizing improvements to chronic hardware discrepancies.
