Richland Library is seeking to hire a Full-Time Learning Engagement Manager at our Main location.

Sample Duties:

• Consults with Library supervisors, managers, and teams on a regular basis on matters related to learning and development and other Library initiatives and programs
• Communicates learning initiatives, departmental, division, and organizational information to departments as well as to entire system on a regular basis
• Represents the library through team leadership, conducting trainings and engagement with the staff, public, and building partnerships to strengthen learning
• Plans, develops, coordinates, and implements learning and training sessions and initiatives
• Supports consistent e-content delivery through developing programs and learning initiatives for staff, the public and Library partners
• Administers departmental budget and funds appropriately and effectively in collaboration with department leadership and administrative directives
• Coordinates with outside instructors, trainers and presenters as necessary
• Aligns staff learning initiatives strategically with customer learning and organizational learning priorities
• Selects effective sources of learning and training to be used for a variety of needs
• Determines and evaluates outcomes of learning programs, sessions and initiatives
• Provides development and support for an effective ongoing process for new employee orientation
• Coordinates large staff events including annual Staff Engagement Days and similar activities
• Coordinates and leads special projects or team efforts
• Conducts presentations, demonstrations, and trainings for the public in conjunction with learning initiatives
• Works with appropriate staff to seek or administer special outside grants for staff development
• Champions, leads, or supports project teams as necessary
• Advises and supports the Volunteer Coordinator as necessary regarding volunteers’ orientation and training
• Communicates with training specialists in other libraries and organizations locally and nationally
• Learns and consistently exhibits Richland Library’s brand promises in all interactions with customers and colleagues; provides outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers successfully ascertains and meets the individualized needs of each customer
• Works outside of standard business hours, including nights and weekends based on organizational responsibilities and job requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, business, human resources, or related discipline required; supplemented by at least six (6) years of directly related experience including two (2) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification as a professional in staff learning, training, and development.

Where: Richland Library Main, 1431 Assembly Street, Columbia, SC 29201

Salary: $2,334.62 bi-weekly plus excellent benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with occasional evenings: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:30 pm

Job Role & Level: L3; Pay Grade & Salary Band: 8; FLSA Status: Exempt

** Richland Library may change location and schedule of any library job.
