About the Position

Our client, a staffing agency in the Aerospace industry, is seeking a Lead Principal Power Systems Design Engineer. This exciting opportunity involves designing power solutions and associated interface electronics for avionics and spaceborne applications. The role requires creating block diagrams, analyzing power designs, performing simulations, lab testing, and troubleshooting hardware. The Engineer must also support technical reviews, deliver module-based power solutions, and foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external teams. A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years relevant experience are required. Preferred skills include experience in power conversion architectures, controls theory, and knowledge of various electronic design tools. The position is open in multiple locations, with relocation assistance available for those willing to relocate to Fort Wayne, IN or Palm Bay, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, OR a Graduate Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
• 7+ years of experience interpreting high level requirements to develop power architectures.
• Comprehensive experience regarding power conversion architectures, power converter topologies, power semiconductors, control loop theory, thermal management, PWB layout best practices and EMI filtering.
• Experience with supplier engagements.
• Active TS/SCI clearance (preferred).
• Experience with SPICE, Math CAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro and Mentor Graphics tools (preferred).
• Extensive application experience with different topology AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion modules (both isolated and non-isolated) that meet the power and EMI requirements described under MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-461, and DO-160 (preferred).
• Experience performing Worst Case analysis (preferred).
• Experience with performing independent assessments of power designs (preferred).
• Experience leading teams and project designs (preferred).
• H-infinity controls knowledge (preferred).
• Effective collaboration across all levels of organizational Leadership (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment (preferred).
• Documented history of architecture conceptual design work (preferred).
