Resources for Human Development is seeking to hire a Lead Direct Support Professional in the Wexford area. to work directly with individuals dually diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities and pervasive mental illness living in the Wexford Area.

Responsibilities/Duties

• The Lead Direct Support Professional will act as a mentor for DSP staff in regards to the expectations of how the job duties should be performed
• Assist the Residential Supervisor in the daily operation of the home
• Responsible for the safety and supervision of individuals served by RHD Community Passages
• Assist with residentially based interventions and work alongside consumers with activities of daily living both in the home and in the community

Required Experience

• Minimum of two years human services experience preferred
• History or knowledge of working with adults with significant mental illness

Required Education

Required Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check

Program Summary

Community Passages is a community-based residential program designed to provide a homelike environment for individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnoses, many of whom present significantly challenging behaviors and most of whom previously resided at state centers and hospitals. Residents develop life skills, increase their self-esteem, and are empowered to make choices for themselves.
