SUMMARY

Lead, direct, and facilitate the activities of the assemblers to maximize value added labor and efficiency and eliminate the need for any non-value-added activity outside of the work. Interface with quality assurance, production, customer service, safety and other operational areas to immediately address any issues or areas for improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and apply a full understanding of the Welch culture.

Develop assembly and work to attain objectives of safety, productivity, quality, on time delivery and lean manufacturing principles.

Actively participate in all task team activities and participate in and promote cross-training.

Monitor current production output (setup and run efficiency) and monitor materials for required documentation, defects, and potential environmental hazards and notify appropriate personnel of non-conformances.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous Supervisory Experience a must

Computer Knowledge

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
