Job description
Magnolia is seeking a Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Tech in the Giddings office. This person will be directly involved in day-to-day surveying, record-keeping, and repairing of facilities in the NRSP/OOOO-defined LDAR program. This will include using a specialized camera to detect emissions, documenting findings according to regulatory requirements, and performing repairs as needed. There will be constant communication with the Maintenance Foreman, Production Foremen, Operators, and other Magnolia employees. This role may also include supervising vendor work at times, and being able to adapt to conflicts that arise in survey schedules due to weather, holidays, repairs, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Field Surveys and maintain documentation of them.
- Repair findings on-the-spot as practical. For larger repair jobs, coordinate with the appropriate personnel to arrange for the work, and then return to document appropriately.
- Work with Magnolia field personnel to identify root causes of emissions.
- Track costs of ongoing LDAR work.
- Develop and maintain LDAR schedule.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
- At least 3 years’ production experience, required.
- Ability to use basic management software.
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Excel and other MS Office applications to create cost tracking and reports.
- A successful candidate will be very detail oriented in order to comply with the specific regulatory requirements of an LDAR program.
- Be able to work across multiple disciplines and groups (HSE, Field Operations, compression, electrical, I&E, chemicals, etc.).
- Demonstrate leadership qualities to guide service providers, including providing safety leadership to vendors.
- An active driver’s license and safe driving record are required for this position.
- Good communication skills.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly works around chemical and mechanical systems and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to lift and move equipment and/or pipes, provide support over time without fatigue.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Frequently operates a computer, hand and power tools, and other equipment and machinery as required.
- Routinely ascends/ descends a ladder and/or stairs to install, inspect, service storage tanks and other equipment.
