SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of the position is to support superior housekeeping standards where linens and towels are perceived as clean, stain free and fresh. This will ensure guest satisfaction and a repeat guest. The Laundry Attendant is expected to provide prompt, courteous, friendly and professional service to all Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel guests and fellow employees at all times. They are responsible for maintaining superior quality in service for our guests. Performing their jobs duties on a daily basis will require the employee to adhere to quality while maintaining a demanding yet productive pace.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Stand, walk and remain on feet and perform job duties throughout shift while working quickly and quietly.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs
- Retrieve linens from laundry cart and pick up linens from hotel corridors and the hotel pool.
- Start washer and dryer and monitor cleaning and drying operations.
- All linen must be separated prior to washing
- Choose the correct cycle on the washing machine for each load of laundry.
- Recheck all linen for any stains after washing and before being put into the dryer.
- Clean and maintain all laundry room equipment and linens;
- Ensure efficient and proper operation of laundry equipment;
- Presoak, sterilize, scrub, and spot clean stained articles.
- Examine and sort articles to be cleaned into lots according to color, fabric, dirt content, and cleaning technique required.
- Sort and count articles removed from dryer and fold, wrap, or hang items for airing out or delivery.
- Discard worn, torn, or stained linen and notate in appropriate log.
- Distribute clean articles to appropriate areas ensuring housekeeping closets are adequately stocked.
- Maintain, clean, and organize the laundry room and linen storage areas.
- Assist House Person and Housekeeping Attendants when necessary;
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Must work well with little or no supervision.
- Prioritizes and is productive at all times.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills required.
- Recognize and resolves problems quickly.
- Must be able to follow directions and if direction isn’t clear, ask for clarification.
- Works with the public in a calm, courteous, friendly and professional manner.
