Job Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with all safety regulations, maintain clean and orderly work areas, and always adhere to company OSHA safety guidelines.
- Promote a safe work environment for all staff, vendors, and customers.
- Must be able to follow all appropriate safety practices.
- Must be able to comprehend and retain safety programs.
- Setup and operate Laser Machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Ability to operate the laser at an intermediate level.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Setup cutting head and nozzle for different materials.
- Uses EPICOR system to record job times and quantities.
- Use suction hoist and lift bridge to insert and remove material.
- Enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions.
- Adjust machine setting to complete tasks according to specifications and production demands.
- Sets material on machine bed and repositions as needed to run successive pieces, or to perform multiple operations.
- Verifies dimensions of workpiece to determine accuracy of machine, per training checklist
- Organize parts for the next process.
- Troubleshoot machine to ensure quality.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Keep grates clean and replace as necessary.
- Operation of various hand-operated tools related to steel fabrication.
- Maintains equipment and performs daily in the production process.
- Regular, timely attendance to meet organizational needs in an efficient and effective manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior forklift and operator experience a plus.
- Able to be self-motivated, takes initiative and has positive problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated pattern of positive attitude, strong work ethic, dedication, dependability, and timeliness.
- Basic mathematics skills and be able to read a measuring tape.
- Ability to understand the English language and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Commitment to building a positive culture.
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently. Over 50 pounds, a forklift or crane will be used.
- Must be able to push or pull a cart with 80 pounds of force.
- Perform work standing for eight to ten hours a day for up to six days a week.
