Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Land Representative through 05/08/2023 at 11:59 p.m.
Responsible for land management duties related to surface and subsurface operations associated with a geographic region. Required to manage associated asset development, land business development, and non-op land activity. Responsibilities include developing and executing asset development, portfolio, and NOJV (Non Operated Joint Venture) land strategies, negotiating and drafting complex land agreements, researching courthouse and land records, working with govt officials, overseeing land due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, and clearing title and performing title curative work for dynamic rig schedules. Must have the ability to quickly learn land systems including QLS and QGIS. Provide competent land and business guidance to asset teams, key stakeholders and management to meet business objectives. Effectively provide work direction to field land agents and outside legal counsel. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Serve as the land subject matter expert on cross functional business unit teams.
Serve as lead negotiator and project manager for land transactions.
Compile, analyze, and communicate land data and concepts.
Acquire, maintain, and divest the business unit’s land assets.
Negotiate and draft various oil and gas agreements (Leases, Production Sharing Agreements, Farmout/Ins, Joint Operating Agreements, Trades, Mineral & Surface Agreements, etc.).
Issue title clearances/perform title curative work for rig lines.
Effectively provide work direction to field land agents and outside legal counsel.
Build marketing materials and perform title due diligence on outgoing and incoming properties.
Advise land support personnel to maintain land records system.
Make risk based business recommendations; clearly articulate value tradeoffs.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of industry land representative related experience.
Bachelor’s degree.
Excellent verbal/written communication, organization, and time management skills.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and project management skills.
Possess strong negotiation and drafting skills; as well as, experience recognizing, analyzing, and resolving difficult negotiating situations.
Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals.
Creative, outside the box thinker – solutions oriented.
Ability to build and influence both internal and external relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
Quorum Land Systems (QLS) and Quorum Geographic Information Systems (QGIS) experience
Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Energy Commerce, Business, or an advanced degree in Law (J.D.) or MBA from accredited institutions
