Please Note; Our Corporate office is located in Atlanta, Georgia; However, this position involves extensive travel ........& the successful candidate’s work location may be anywhere in the state of Georgia.

Some overnight travel (up to 50%) is required with this position.

There is NO relocation available for this position.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Land Location and Acquisition Coordinator serves as the Chairperson of the Location Committee and is responsible for convening the Location Committee in order for its members to select a practical and feasible transmission line route in accordance with O.C.G.A § 22-3-161.

This position is also responsible for siting substations, generation facilities, and/or routes for the installation of fiber equipment using the same governing principles. Additional responsibilities include project estimates (TEAMS) and progress updates.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering or engineering technology (civil, mechanical, geomatics, environmental, surveying, electrical, forestry is required)

• Professional Engineering license or registered land Surveyor is preferred

Experience Requirements:

• Land Acquisition, Transmission, Environmental, and/or Transmission or Fiber Construction work experience is preferred.

If qualifying under the Environmental Science degree, experience shall include water-related permitting, compliance, and program development associated with the following:

• Environmental permitting and compliance associated with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permits, Georgia state stream buffer variances, and Georgia revocable licenses
• Delineating jurisdictional features per the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual (1987 edition)
• Evaluating sites for potential presence of state and federal protected species
• Experience with and ability to operate GPS systems for jurisdictional delineations

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• General understanding of the siting and land acquisition processes and protocols for compliance with O.C.G.A § 22-3-161

• Comprehensive knowledge of transmission, substation, generation, and fiber facilities

• Qualifications to serve as an expert witness in Special Master hearings and jury trials

• Proficient in the use of GIS and Arc Map

• Ability to facilitate a meeting while effectively presenting, discussing, and analyzing multitudes of data and opinions to reach a committee consensus

• Interpersonal skills to effectively establish and maintain customer relationships with a broad spectrum of internal and external customers

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Excellent time management skills

Major Job Responsibilities:

• Preparing preliminary siting recommendations, convening the Location Committee, and facilitating the Committee meetings in order for its members to select a practical and feasible transmission line route in accordance with O.C.G.A § 22-3-161

• Advising internal organizations and executive management of sensitive issues associated with the selection a of practical and feasible transmission line route and/or route for the installation of fiber facilities

• Effectively leading a committee comprised of diverse individuals, ideas, knowledge, and expertise to a consensus decision

• Serving as an expert witness in condemnation proceedings

• Participating in Public Information Meetings
