Job description: Laboratory Technician with Horse Experience

About the Position:

The Part Time or Full Time Equine Veterinary Laboratory Technician is a skilled Laboratory Technician, with a background in horsemanship. Under the supervision of a DVM, the ELT will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of urgent and routine equine medical events at the clinic, care for hospitalized patients, process laboratory testing, and assist with farm/facility maintenance.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Excellent horse handling skills and experience (including loading onto trailers) are required.
• Skilled in collecting, testing, labeling, and processing samples using appropriate equipment.
• Skilled in recording test results accurately in electronic or written format
• Able to maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment according to environmental and health standards.
• A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet.
• You possess the ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
• Proficiency with computers, tablets, and cloud base data recording systems
• Must be able to lift 50lbs.
• Must possess a valid MA driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Anticipated Schedule: (TBD)

• Part Time and Full Time positions available
• Weekend availability required
