Sally’s Apizza is growing! Sally’s Apizza is one of the famous cornerstone restaurants continuously operating since 1938. Sally's Apizza is known for their thin crust pizza made using the freshest ingredients baked in the original 80+-year-old coal-fired oven.

Sally’s Apizza is looking for experienced restaurant managers to join our team. Our team is growing, and we are looking for responsible individuals with a background in restaurant management. The ideal candidate should be energetic, personable, engaging, and understand the technical aspects of great hospitality. Must have a flexible schedule, experience in a high-volume setting, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to get “hands-on”.   • High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred

  • Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred

  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.

  • Safe Food Handling Certification

  • Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions

  • Must have experience calculating figures and amounts and performing mathematical functions for inventory and food cost to meet the business needs

As the Kitchen Manager, you will...

  • Be directly responsible for implementing and following department/culinary standards overseeing all culinary operations.

  • Responsible for managing all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness.

  • Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, catering and management and training of kitchen staff

  • Creating menu items, recipes, and preparing high quality dishes

  • Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production

  • Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, instructing staff in proper food preparation, food storage, use of kitchen equipment, and utensil sanitation and safety issues.

  • Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner

  • Work closely with the Leadership Team in menu development

  • Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications

  • Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met

  • Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices

ROLE COMPETENCIES

Language

  • English

  • Basic Spanish (preferred but not required)

Experience

  • Progressive culinary / kitchen management experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of culinary restaurant operations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends

Technical

  • Excellent prep and knife skills

  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Brink POS preferred)

  • Experience managing the supply chain and using 3rd party vendors.

Certifications

  • ServeSafe Certified

Pay

Starting at $65,000 Annually plus Bonus
