Kitchen Helper

This is a great opportunity for those looking to grow into a position as a line cook.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour + tips

Duties & Responsibilities:

• In charge of prep tasks in the kitchen such as cutting, cleaning, and portioning food ingredients to support Line Cooks; May be asked to perform basic cooking tasks such as boiling eggs
• Manage inventory of raw materials and ingredients; Ensure proper rotation to help reduce food waste
• Assist Line Cooks in cutting, plating, and packaging of cooked foods
• Wash kitchen and restaurant wares; Maintain cleanliness of BOH areas, food prep areas, and serving area
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or the store manager

Qualifications:

• Has some exposure to kitchen work and basic kitchen skills such a cutting, cleaning, mixing, or serving foods; Prior experience as a cook or other related roles in a commercial kitchen is highly desirable but not required
• Has strong work ethic and willingness to show up to work on time with a smile! The rest we can train on the job.
• Can maintain good health and sanitation standards
• Can work up to 8 hours per day while standing and walking (with breaks in between)
• Can occasionally lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Can withstand heat, coldness, and exposure to cleaning chemicals, smoke, fumes, and some airborne particles
• Is willing to work on a flexible schedule, including weekends
• Is legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring any sponsorship
• An active Washington Food Handler Permit is a plus (we can train you to get one)
• All candidates are subject to a pre-employment background check and work authorization verification before actual employment starts
