WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Junior Staff Accountant is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization as well as the payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization. For payments to our vendors, this person will ensure that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and payment of goods and services. In addition, this role will assist in the monthly close process and other accounting requests as needed, such as budgeting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end journal entries and reconciliations related to areas of responsibility.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures to enhance workflow of the department.
  • Work with internal partners to forecast spending.
  • Support short and long term operational / strategic business activities through analysis.
  • Manages vendor relationships on the accounting side of the organization.
  • Prepares weekly reports as needed for CFO.
  • Support CFO with Month End Close activities. Including journal entries, account reconciliations, cash reconciliations, report generation, account analysis, and other tasks as needed.
  • Maintain KPI decks for each childcare location.
  • Support CFO with ad-hoc requests.
  • Performs other duties as needed to support the team.
  • Cross-train processing and entering Cash Receipts from deposits and transfers.
  • Cross-train processing check requests ensuring all appropriate approvals have been received.
  • Cross-train processing A/P vouchering.
Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in Accounting.
  • Previous experience required.
  • Ethical Conduct

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Excel
  • Possesses strong self-motivation, drive, and takes initiative to reach goals and target assignments
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and conduct that conforms to Little People’s College values and culture.
  • Assures all work is processed in a swift and a timely fashion with high quality results.
  • Acts in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of work assignments.

Job Type:

40 – 32 hours per week.
