Job Title: Data Analyst, Corporate Development
Department: Corporate Development
Reports to: Manager, Corporate Development
FLSA status: Exempt

SUMMARY

The Corporate Development Data Analyst will support senior management of the portfolio along with the Corporate
Development leadership. Primary responsibilities of the team includes, but is not limited to, dashboard development and maintenance, report generation, forecasting future events using statistical methods, and optimizing supply chain networks.
The Analyst will work closely with senior management across portfolio companies and corporate management, interfacing daily with CFO, COO, and various division heads. The Analyst will become an expert on all data leveraged by all facets of the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reporting and analysis across multiple portfolio companies on finances, operations, sales, etc
  • Direct, consolidate, and administer annual budget preparation and in-year forecasting for portfolio companies.
  • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, including KPI’s, compared to forecast, budget, and prior year.
  • Perform complex ad-hoc analyses to assist in execution of existing and formulation of new business strategies in concert with portfolio level and corporate management teams.
  • Develop new approaches, processes, or methods to solve business problems, act as an agent of change; continuous reevaluation of process to achieve operational and financial goals always utilizing data.
  • Develop dashboards in Qlik Sense to support business operations.
  • Assist sales organizations in analyzing commodity markets to support large contract bids (RFP/Q’s)
  • Drive various technology roll outs across companies and departments.
  • Ongoing, general portfolio management

COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with R or Python or a desire to learn.
  • Experience with Tableua/Qlik Sense/Power BI or a desire to learn
  • Able to communicate effectively with C-suite executives and across multiple companies and divisions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and as a team member

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIORNMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Full-Time, Monday to Friday. Hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

TRAVEL

No travel is expected for this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS or equivalent) required, preferred in a numbers based field (statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, other)
  • 0-2 years in an analytical role
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on excel
  • SQL experience
  • Experience in industrial or agricultural industries a plus
