Now seeking Adult Employment Director for the City of Cambridge. This role will lead the Office of Workforce Development's programs and services for adults, while working with community-based organizations, private businesses, and municipal partners to expand employment, education, and training opportunities for Cambridge residents. The ideal candidate should be a flexible manager knowledgeable about workforce development programming, labor market trends, and committed to workforce development as a force for equity and anti-racism.
Key duties:
- Providing oversight and direction to the Cambridge Employment Program (CEP) and Cambridge Works (CW)
- Engaging with the business community to increase private sector participation and support for Office of Workforce Development initiative
- Collaborating with regional and city-based workforce development partners
- Supervise and support a team of 7 staff, work with a database manager to manage client databases, and actively engage in and support the Department's Race and Equity Initiative.
Qualified candidates will possess:
- 3-5 years of supervisory and program management experience
- Awareness of labor market trends and best practices in workforce development
- Experience working with diverse staff and clientele, and excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong computer skills and database management
- Familiarity with workforce development systems and services and direct service experience is preferred
