Job description
We are looking for a Janitorial Supervisor/lead who is self-started, passionate about working with a strong Operations team and that has experience in the cleaning industry and facilities operations.
The core function of this position is to support the Site Management with janitorial functions, as well as to coordinate the activities of workers engaged in cleaning and maintaining the premise. The duties of this position are to ensure the successful and timely completion of cleaning buildings and to maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment.
Essential Duties:
- Assign tasks to employees based on job requirements or special assignments
- Inspect assigned job sites for conformance to company and client standards
- Fulfill some administrative tasks and provide certain reports when needed.
- Order and issue supplies and equipment as needed
- Train new workers and oversee on-going training of existing employees
- Assist custodial staff for special projects and/or perform any open job for which coverage is necessary due to departmental absences
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Possess customer service skills and interact with the clients
- Clean using appropriate methods, equipment, and chemicals
- Operate cleaning machinery as needed; including machinery for carpet cleaning, machine scrubbing floors, etc.
- Lead and manage Special Projects—may need to work nights and weekends as needed
- Attendance and Punctuality are essential functions of the position as it requires face-to-face interactions
- Communicate constantly through email and other digital formats.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard janitorial duties, cleaning techniques, products, and equipment
- Must be able to read and communicate both written and verbally in English.
- Bilingual is Highly preferred (English & Spanish)
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work individually or as a team
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Have 2-3 years of direct supervisory experience
- Must be flexible and willing to work early morning/days, and support PM operations as needed (with advance notice).
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to use computers and basic computer software (MS office, email etc).
- Must be able to lift up to 50-pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
