· Pay: $15:00 per hour (with guaranteed increase within 3 months)

· Hours: 6-hour shift (30 hours per week)

· Shift: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Mondays) 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Tuesdays - Fridays)

· Location: Merrillville, IN

The Janitor reflects the mission, vision, and values of Earnest Janitorial, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Working under general supervision of a Custodial Supervisor, the Janitor performs a variety of cleaning and associated functions to ensure the buildings are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.

Qualifications

· High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred

· Strong attention to detail.

· Previous custodial/cleaning experience preferred.

· Ability to frequently lift, push and slide items that typically weigh up to 50 lbs.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Remove cobwebs.
• Vacuum carpeted surfaces including stairwells and hallways.
• Scrub and/or mop hard surface floors with appropriate cleaners.
• Clean windows and windowsills

· Collect trash and replace garbage liners, cleans garbage receptacles as required.

· Dust and clean all furniture, fixtures, and accessible surfaces as required.

· Wash and disinfect toilets, urinals, faucets, sinks, in restrooms.

· Wipe down mirrors and glass fixtures.

· Wash and disinfect sinks, toilet walls and partitions.

· Sanitize doorknobs, door handles & light switches.

· Restock all restroom floors, toilets, toilet seats, paper and soap dispensers as required.

· Perform and/or report minor maintenance repairs and any damages.

· Upon completion of work, return all equipment and supplies to janitor closet.

· Maintain janitor closet in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

· Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.

· Ensure proper labeling, dilution, and use of all chemicals.

· Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

• Utilize employee app to log in and out of shifts.
• Return all keys and pagers to supervisor at the end of shift.
• Overall knowledge of equipment and cleaning solutions is necessary as well as rigid adherence to established housekeeping standards,

Physical Demands:

· The Janitor position is a physically demanding position. The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, lifting heavy objects.

· Management has the exclusive tight to alter the scope of work within the framework of the job description at any time without prior notice.
