IT Security Specialist

The Musco Information Technology Team is currently seeking an IT Security Specialist to work from our Muscatine office. This position will focus on security forensics, assessing potential security threats, enhancing security awareness and training, and assisting with policy development. More details about the role are below.
What you will do as an IT Security Specialist:
- Research policies on the internet to be added to Musco’s Risk Assessment framework. Work with key stakeholders to implement.
- Define, implement, and maintain corporate security policies
- Train fellow team members in security awareness and procedures, providing written documentation when needed
- Perform security projects assigned by Digital Infrastructure Architect
- Work with 3rd party security vendors as a liaison for Musco needs
- Investigate which devices or software may have security issues and remediate
- Other duties as assigned
What you need to be successful:
- 2+ years of experience working with IT Security Policies and Security Training frameworks.
- Well versed in writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to identify areas of improvement regarding IT Security Policies and Procedures.
- Ability to create security training content like phishing email and phishing landing pages.
- Ability to provide one on one or group training on best practices of IT Security.
- May need to seek out key stakeholders of the company to gain insight to IT Security practices and document procedures.
Other special requirements:
- May answer occasional call during non-work hours as part of troubleshooting.
- In the rare event of an emergency, may be required to come to the office unexpectedly or log-in remotely.
