The position administers University Counsel technology workspaces in SharePoint, OneDrive, and other software as needed, for data management, both in litigation and transactional practice, and resolves technical issues that may arise with campus ITS or security risks.

In consultation with attorneys and paralegals, this position is responsible for management and implementation of eDiscovery and data management, security of eDiscovery and other data, documentation of the chain of custody of the eDiscovery system analysis, and forensic data acquisition in the project spaces for which counsel is engaged on behalf of the University.

  • Managing all communication with ITS across campus, and with IT in the multiple departments, to implement the designed project as planned and troubleshoot changes and/or workarounds as needed to keep the project on track;
  • Working with a variety of software programs in each department to extract the necessary electronic information, sometimes requiring custom solutions, technical modifications, or new software, while also staying abreast of recent intelligence and trends in security breaches, hacking attempts, and possible malware;
  • Analyzing the data in real time and trouble shooting as needed to ensure the project is obtaining the legally necessary information;
  • Identifying any outside contingent user who may affect University exposure and/or present security risks;
  • Securing all devices potentially involved and maintaining the contents of the fireproof safe for storage of campus wide ITS forensic materials and devices for security purposes until such time as these items can be legally destroyed.
