Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for applying project management practices and tools to effectively manage the implementation of projects and initiatives within Columbia Distributing. Most projects will involve operational changes involving physical configurations of buildings, technical innovations, supplier or brand acquisitions, or significant program or process changes. The PM may also, depending on the project, assume responsibility for some or all operational elements related to the project.

This position can be based out of Kent, WA or Wilsonville, OR.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure an efficient and effective implementation of defined projects to include schedule, budget and defined outcome compliance using proven project management tools including MS Project, Excel, SharePoint, and other available tools to create scheduling, charter documents, action trackers, dashboards, RACI charts and the like to manage the administrative and change management aspects of project implementation and produce related process documentation.
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives with Sponsor and Primary Stakeholders
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner; monitor resource utilization to ensure sufficiency
  • Prepare project budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
  • Track project costs to meet project budget, anticipate and flag risks of overage and determine corrective course of action
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan; hold project team accountable for task completion
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

People Management

This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional project teams and developing strong, trusting and effective relationships with operations, sales, and administrative leadership throughout the company to collaboratively drive results.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily indoors, occasionally outdoors.

Physical Requirements

  • Bend/stoop/crouch/squat/use arms/wrists/hands/grasp throughout shift.
  • Climb stairs/ladder occasionally

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days/hours of work vary, and may include weekends.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 3-5 years of project management and related experience

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

Compensation
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
  • Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees are also eligible for 80 hours of vacation every year and 7-8 days of paid holidays throughout the calendar year (depending on location).
  • Hired applicant may be eligible for incentives/ bonuses/ annual bonuses.
  • Salary:$65,500 to $90,000/yr depending on experience.
