IT Professional II – End User Support
Position Overview:
This position will support Rothe Development, the prime on the Joint Operations and Integrated System Technology (JOIST). Baseline B at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This contract supports the Flight Operations Directorate (FOD) develop and sustain specialized IT software, systems, and provide support.
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization's application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Experience in writing documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manual for users to describe installation and operating procedures. Provides end-user support for hardware and software. Troubleshoots, analyzes and effects system repairs to ensure required functionality is available. Establishes, tests, and deploys approves software and hardware components to end users. Familiar with relational databases and client-server concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities (JOIST Baseline B SOW)
- Provide Enhanced User Support Services to a user base community of ~150-200 users. Provide Enhanced User support services Monday thru Friday, between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Central Time, and a 24/7 hotline support capability with a maximum reaction time of 30 minutes
- Support mission-unique laptops with mostly standard office applications
- Support tablets
- Support smartphones
- Generation of multi-media content for public-outreach
- Provide Standard User Services for FOD office IT that is not provided by Agency or Center contracts to a user base community of ~2100 to 2300 users stationed at the JSC main campus, Ellington Field, SCTF and the El Paso forward operating location.
- Process requests for take home software for user-related requirements, and close all requests when completed
- Assist users with setup, configuration management of shared drive resources, printers, maintenance and software reloads, hardware installation, and user questions
- Provide installation, administration, maintenance, and operational support for FOD office printers not administered by Agency and/or JSC enterprise service providers
- Interface between FOD personnel and Agency and Center contractors
Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):
- Education/Experience: BA or BS/3 Years OR: High School Grad 7 Years
- CompTIA Security+ or similar, Current Windows O/S Certification
Working Conditions:
- Must be capable of gaining and maintaining NASA badge/clearance
- Hours – 7AM - 5PM office environment (overlapping shifts)
- Travel - Occasional
- Physical Requirements – Sitting, standing, walking, and using a keyboard
- NASA JSC onsite work environment at Buildings 4S, 4N, 30, or other
- Must sign a personal non-disclosure agreement to protect JOIST sensitive data
