The City of Phoenix is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager to join the Enterprise Infrastructure Services division of the Information Technology Services Department.

The IT DR Manager manages the implementation and execution of the City's Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) program and is responsible for a DR portfolio of approximately 100 critical business applications and infrastructure. The IT DR Manager performs a wide variety of coordination and planning activities with city business stakeholders and leads the development, maintenance, testing, and execution of DR plans for critical business systems that are central to the City's continued operations. This role is critical to ensuring the security, integrity, and recoverability of the City's data, applications, databases, information systems, and technology. Working with the City's Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) vendor, the DR Manager oversees the disaster recovery services from strategic planning through implementation, operations, and execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with business stakeholders, IT personnel, application vendors, and the City's DRaaS vendor to develop, document, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans and procedures.
  • Overseeing the City's DRaaS vendor to maintain accountability and quality of contracted deliverables and ensure service level objectives such as Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) can be met.
  • Reviewing contracts for externally hosted applications for DR risk management.
  • Developing budgets, policies, and procedures to support the city's DR program.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Technical knowledge and experience developing, documenting, testing, and executing IT disaster recovery plans.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with all pertinent stakeholders to understand technical requirements to deploy appropriate DR or other protection solutions.
  • Ability to perform disaster recovery technology and operational assessments to manage the portfolio.
  • Ability to drive improved Business Continuity planning within hosting services (i.e., IaaS, SaaS) in partnership with business and cybersecurity stakeholders.

SALARY


$82,492.80 - $125,424.00 annually. Candidates may be hired up to $125,424.00 depending upon qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of experience developing, evaluating, using, and maintaining technical system hardware and software.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or a related field.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • At least three years of proven and dedicated Information Technology Disaster Recovery work experience.
  • Three years of experience in backup, recovery, storage systems, and IT systems administration.
  • Three years of experience planning, developing, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery plans.
  • Experience with VMware, VMware SRM, Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Linux, and data backup and recovery solutions (i.e., Zerto, Veeam, Commvault, Cohesity, Rubrik, etc.).
  • Experience supporting IT Disaster Recovery, including development of strategies, risk assessments, business impact analysis, data center assessment, audit reviews, exercise facilitation, contractual review, and vendor management.
