The Irrigation Technician's duties will include but are not limited to; the installation of irrigation systems, performing property repairs, making adjustments, and troubleshooting irrigation systems, such as clock programming, trenching, irrigation heads, valves, pipe replacement, wiring, and general problem identification.

Experience, Education, and Skills Required:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least two years of Irrigation experience is required. In this position, we expect this person to have a Backflow Certification. If you currently do not have this certification Northwest Landscaping will pay for you to complete the class within 30 days of employment. A valid Arizona driver’s license is mandatory.

Must have knowledge of:

• Materials and equipment used in the installation, maintenance, and operation of irrigation systems.
• Methods and techniques of maintaining tools and equipment.
• Backflow testing.
• Safety practices and equipment.
• Principles and Procedures of Recordkeeping

Position Function and Duties:

• Install irrigation or sprinkler systems
• Test systems for potential issues
• Perform heavy manual labor for extended periods in all types of weather.
• Test soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs.
• Digging trenches and installing pipelines.
• Installing pumps and electrical timers.
• Maintain compliance with all company and state/federal safety standards, regulations, equipment, and procedures.
• Inform management of any customer issues or concerns that are not completely resolved to the satisfaction of the customer.

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment. Must be able to operate landscaping equipment. Requires constant (65%-100%) walking, bending, reaching, pulling, stooping, kneeling, pushing, stretching, and mental alertness. Requires frequent (34%-65%) climbing and lifting to (50) pounds. Requires occasional (0%-33%) sitting. Must possess the ability to endure high levels of noise. Must possess the physical stamina to work outdoors and perform labor continuously. Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range. Ability to communicate clearly preferred. Must possess good hand-eye coordination, gross motor coordination, and manual dexterity. Must be able to withstand heat during hot summers.

Typical Work Conditions:

Constant contact with customers. Work is performed outdoors, with exposure to all weather elements. Work involves the continual use of industry-specific equipment, materials, and products. Work involves daily travel.

Special Equipment:

Must possess the ability to operate landscaping equipment including, but not limited to mini-excavators, backhoes, trenchers, pipes, sprinkler heads, electrical wiring, and others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
