From your PASSION to ours
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory within the Warehouse Management and Accounting systems. The Inventory Clerk handles all paperwork and procedures necessary to perform this responsibility. He/she also verifies all orders received and shipped and ensures that the orders are properly accounted for in the company’s records. The Inventory Control Clerk accounts for all defective or damaged products and follows with appropriate corrective action.

Key responsibilities for this position include:
- INVENTORY MANAGEMENT - Maintain and update inventory records. Create efficient and accurate inventory management procedures. Perform all daily activities necessary to maintain accurate inventory results. Reconcile physical and system inventories and make adjustments when necessary. Coordinate the monthly physical inventory procedures.
- QUALITY - Plan and implement a process to ensure all damaged/defective product is accounted for and properly dispositioned. Maintain records to accurately track recouped product and return saleable product to stock. Monitor and audit the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reports.
- STOCK SEARCH - Conduct as necessary, any search to locate product within the systems. Within authorization limits, adjust records when there are discrepancies between actual product and records. Advise Warehouse Management on recommended preventative and corrective actions.
- RETURNS - Audit returns and move returned product to its proper system location. When necessary, process proper documentation to generate a credit transaction. Disposition product that is not in saleable condition.
- CYCLE COUNT - As needed, perform and coordinate weekly cycle counts and make system adjustments.
- SHORTAGES/SECURITY - In conjunction with Inventory Control Manager, assure that only authorized personnel have access to inventory records. Assist in the maintenance of accurate inventory records to help facilitate shortage detection.
- RECORDS AND REPORTS - Utilize system reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory counts including records of all audits, counts, and adjustments. Complete and issue all necessary records and reports including filing invoices and maintaining customer records in a timely and accurate fashion.
- CUSTOMER INTERFACING - Communicate with customers & suppliers regarding timing of physical inventories. Work with Customer Service Representatives, Supervisors, and Warehouse Supervisors to establish order processing and inventory receipt cut-off dates.

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:
Education:
- Minimum of an associate’s degree or relative years’ experience.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, and inventory control preferred.
- Must possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle counts accurately.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with personal computers and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to present, converse and report professionally to Lactalis Leadership.
Specialized Knowledge:
- The Inventory Control Clerk requires knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology and practices. Practical skills in mathematics, problem analysis, and problem-solving. Maintain necessary records, track items and perform data entry as needed. Interpersonal and communication skills are important.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common reports and documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to management.
- Ability to solve basic mathematical problems. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Professional Certification:
- Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is a benefit but not required.
