Title: Intensive Needs Classroom Assistant
Employment Status: 7 hours per day, 5 days per week
Qualifications: A minimum of a High School diploma
Primary responsibility is to provide one-to-one instruction as directed by the classroom teacher and perform other relevant and appropriate tasks within the school building.
Tasks include:

Primary responsibility is to provide one-to-one instruction as directed by the classroom teacher and perform other relevant and appropriate tasks within the school building.
Tasks include:
- documenting behaviors,
- preparing instructional materials,
- working cooperatively with building and program staff and students.
- Provides instruction and positive reinforcement in conjunction with students' learning needs.
- Participates in gross motor and physical education activities.
- Helps complete paperwork within the working time limits.
- Escorts children to assigned instructional areas.
- Provides behavioral interventions and models appropriate behaviors.
- Assists children with toileting and other self-care needs.
- Supports students in inclusive environments in the school and community.
- Provides delegated nursing services as assigned.
- Collaborates and cooperates with support staff and other building personnel.
- Acquires new skills through professional development upon recommendation from supervisor or teacher.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Participates to the annual evaluation procedure.
- Assist in developing visual supports.
- Helps students develop appropriate social skills.
- Conducts other duties related to the aide’s duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, Director or ESC Superintendent.
