Overview

Job Summary
The IT Asset Data Specialist is responsible for the daily management of software and technology-related hardware data within the IT organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software license and/or hardware asset data to ensure compliance with vendor contracts and to mitigate risk to the technology environment. It also includes monitoring deployed assets to ensure that only authorized assets are deployed. The IT Asset Data Specialist will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company asset data to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles.
The Intermediate level uses established procedures under moderate guidance and direction from Senior Asset Management specialist or Manager.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages the IT asset inventory utilizing best practice software asset management (SAM), Hardware asset management (HAM) and IT asset disposition (ITAD) processes and tools across the full range of digital technology
  • Maintains automated IT asset inventory
  • Gather data on and provide analysis of all activities that have an impact on the value, cost and risk of digital technology asset life
  • Maintains the CMDB
  • Gather and analyze data to track lifecycle, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT
  • Coordinates with other groups in understanding IT Asset data and it’s lifecycle.
  • Understands team priorities and organizes day to day work accordingly.
  • May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
  • Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers. May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
  • The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. Assigned work location may change. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, data engineering or related degree.
  • 3 years’ experience performing data analysis / data management activities.
  • Experience with use of SQL tools and Scripting languages to manage data.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management Data Bases, their use, and their value.
  • Understanding of CMDB integrations with Asset discovery tools
  • Familiar with the latest technologies, trends, standards, products, and applicability
  • Experience using PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
  • Familiar with Data integrations, ETL and database concepts.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams to solve Asset Management data problems.
  • Methodical approach with attention to detail.
  • Excitement, curiosity, and passion for technology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Excellent communication skill, both oral and written
  • Experience in energy industry
