MSB is seeking a qualified candidate for our Instrumentation & Controls Designer position with experience in I&CS design. The I&C Designer shall have experience with, and ability to perform, field assessments in industrial facilities, determine conduit and cable routing, size conduit and cable tray, develop various construction drawings including routing plans, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, control system cabinet layout drawings, loop sheets, installation details, etc. using AutoCad. This position can be located in either our Metairie, LA or Mandeville, LA office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with a design team of engineers and drafters to produce a complete drawing installation package.
• Performing field surveys and determining raceway and cable routing.
• Designing components and terminations for complete instrumentation interconnect wiring diagrams.
• Creating instrument installation details/drawings, loop sheets, panel layouts, DCS and PLC wiring diagrams, location plans, raceway, and cable routing plans.
• Modifying piping and instrumentation drawings/diagrams (P&IDs).

• 5+ years’ experience as an instrumentation designer in the petrochemical/ refinery industry.
• Practical field experience with the design and installation of various process instruments, PLC’s, and controls systems.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Experience working in a consulting engineering firm environment.
