INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST – ELEMENTARY MATH COACH

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Must hold a valid, current Virginia teaching license
2.Requires a Master's Degree in Mathematics, Math Specialist endorsement, or a related field with advanced coursework/training in mathematics.
3.Preferred Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with administrative experience.
4.Must have successful classroom experience teaching math to a diverse population of students
5.Must have knowledge of research-based instructional strategies and recent demonstrated experience using them in the classroom.
6.Requires recent, successful experience working with teachers to improve the instruction of math. (Preferred 3 years of elementary math teaching experience)
7.Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral language).
8.Must understand the concept of teacher coach.
9.Must have an understanding of the progression of mathematics development, PK-12, as well as principles of adult learning.
10.Must possess, at a minimum, a basic working knowledge of Microsoft and Google Suite, including but not limited to MS Word and Google Docs, Excel and Sheets, and Powerpoint and Slides.
11.Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with and building relationships with administrators, teachers, parents, and community members.
