Albany Valve & Fitting Co., Inc. serves customers in Eastern New York State (23 counties in the Tech Valley), the State of Connecticut, the State of Vermont, and Western Massachusetts (4 counties) since incorporation, May 1972.
Summary:
Reporting to the Sales Operations Manager, the Inside Sales Representative will provide service support for sales and customer service. This role is also responsible for increasing business revenue by making outbound calls to generate interest, qualify prospects and close sales. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and determined, mechanically inclined, have an interest in technical products, and motivated to provide superior sales support while solving a technical problem.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Become an expert on Swagelok offerings and process & instrumentation applications
- Develop sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, and building rapport
- Work with marketing to help drive promotional campaign success
- Provide information through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails
- Utilize business intelligence to gain insight on customers
- Develop accounts by checking customers’ buying history, suggest related and new items, and explain technical features
- Maintain and expand job knowledge by studying new product and service offerings and participating in educational opportunities
- Nurture established customer relationships to drive recurring business and meet annual targets
- Track all sales activity in customer management system (CRM)
- Onsite customer visits as determined by sales team
- Always be a part of a new solution or opportunity to improve
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- History of success in business, sales, or Application Engineering
- Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships
- Demonstrated success working with technical offerings
- A history of excellence in communication, active listening, problem solving & a willingness to close
- A history of, or demonstrated intrinsic drive to compete & win
