Infant & Preschool Center Director

INTRODUCTION:

The Center Director is accountable for the overall business, administration and objectives of our center. The responsibilities are thus managerial in nature and do not include regular in-classroom stints. The successful candidate will have experience and an education in Early Childhood Education and Care as well as have a general business/fiscal background,

ScuttleBugs CDC is an independent, highly regarded child development center licensed for the care and education of up to 118 children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. Our programs are Reggio inspired and our proprietary curriculum incorporates the best of Emergent, Play Based and Early Academic curricula.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

We are currently seeking to fill a full-time Center Director position with the opportunity to grow with us as we expand and open more centers.

The CD is accountable for the overall business and administrative operations of our center, ensuring the success and growth of our company. Therefore, they are required to have substantial experience and a sound knowledge of the business and financial aspects of the role.

With the assistance of the Program Manager, the CD reports to the Director of Center Development. The CD is expected to train mentor, and oversee the Program Manager to be able to confidently succeed in their role. Additionally, they are to identify and institute development paths for other staff members to up-skill for future management/administrative positions.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a seasoned professional with both tertiary level qualifications and a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the ECE field (5+ in management/administration). You are confident and knowledgeable of all operational and business aspects of running a center.

Alternatively, you may be relatively new to childcare, but have solid business credentials and experience that you can apply to a childcare business while you acquire the specifics of running a childcare center.

You are personable/approachable with a positive, “can do” customer focused attitude, and able to form strong relationships with parents/family members, the children and the staff alike. You are competent in HR matters and embrace fully (without feeling dominated/intimidated by) what technology can bring to your profession. With an inquiring mind, you welcome and use data to help shape your decisions. You are creative. You bring value to your job, and above all you welcome responsibility.
