What we are looking for
SCS Engineers is looking for a mid to senior-level industrial wastewater engineer for our Liquids Management Group, focusing on industrial wastewater and landfill leachate treatment design and construction. From the onset, you will manage small- to mid-sized projects and lead teams in designing treatment processes, preparing plans, specifications, permit applications and reports that enhance our environment and produce successful outcomes for our clients. Based on your desire and skill level, you will move into a leadership role, focusing more on project development, client relationships, and team leadership. You can be hybrid out of the Overland Park, Kansas office.

- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and
- Prepares and reviews engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
- Manage projects and personnel as necessary to meet both client and SCS expectations
- Makes decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinates work, and represents the company at meetings and conferences.
- Field work in varied terrain and weather will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, etc.
- Office based tasks including but not limited to: CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, permit applications, etc.
- Business development including but not limited to: proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry related conferences/trade shows.
- Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Engineering in one of the following disciplines: Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering required
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) is strongly preferred
- Project management experience with mid-sized projects (up to $4 million construction cost) required
- 3+ years experience of design teams, draftsman, inspectors and/or field technicians required
- 5+ years experience in design of wastewater treatment systems, piping, and process controls as well as report preparation, permit coordination, and construction management required
