We are in search of an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join our maintenance department. This position will be responsible for performing all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment in support of production operations.
Our ideal candidate will be in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, PLC’s, Electrical controls trouble shoot, Read and Understand Blue print, Mechanical, Pneumatics, and Hydraulic systems. To excel in this position, an individual must have outstanding problem-solving skills, as well as exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on motor control centers, including associated control devices such as relays, timers, switches, and interlocks
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repairs to variable frequency and direct current drives.
- Install, troubleshoot, reprogram and modify programmable logic controllers. Design and modify control circuits and related control devices and equipment.
- Monitors and reacts in a timely manner to routine demand maintenance requirements.
- Install, modify and upgrade new and existing electrical systems, fixtures and other related electrical equipment in compliance with current municipal and national electrical codes.
- Utilizes various mechanical and electrical testing equipment.
- Participates in process improvement.
- Utilizes machining, electrical and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
- Communicates with team members
- Repairs faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
- Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate with operations to plan and schedule repairs.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.
- Reads equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Maintain the inventory records for equipment spare parts and supplies.
- Complies with all company safety rules and procedures.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Formal training and practical experience in an industrial setting as an Industrial Electrician.
- Associates degree in applied technology in industrial/manufacturing or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years practical hands-on experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Experience with 480, low. and DC voltage, VFD’s, and PLC control logic troubleshooting
- Knowledge of principles of electrical distribution and equipment including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, disconnect switches, voltage regulators, automatic transfer switches, synchronizing and power monitoring equipment
- Knowledge of electrical test equipment used for electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and preventive maintenance. Equipment includes but not limited to ammeter (AC/DC), mega-ohn meter, multi-meter, oscilloscope, tachometer, power quality analyzers, thermal imaging cameras and meters
- Knowledge of PLCs (programmable logic controllers) including but not limited to hardware, programming software and communication protocols, and variable frequency drives
- Knowledge of and experience with AC/DC motors and controls and variable frequency (speed) drives
- Skill in bending and installing conduit per the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Skill in installing, pulling, soldering, splicing and terminating wire
- Skill in working with variable frequency (speed) drives, installation, programming, maintenance and repair
- Skill in applying industry codes and guidelines in the design, installation and maintenance of plant electrical equipment
- Skill in performing basic mathematics functions including algebra and trigonometry
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Light machining and welding skills
- Light fabrication skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is physically demanding consisting of heavy work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to hold, grasp, stack, lift, carry, turn, twist, push, pull, bend, kneel, squat, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, cut, reach, balance, open, close, unlock, lock, stand or walk for extended period of time while operating machinery.

Pay: $34.00 - $45.00 per hour
