Why does the job exist?
This position will provide a unit of case workers providing in-home services for Protective Services clients by developing and implementing interventions with children and families receiving voluntary services to reduce risk and promote the safety of children who have experienced or may be at risk of experiencing child maltreatment.
How does it get done?
- Provide direct supervision to assigned staff and lead the local county office management team;
- Review, assign and monitor in-home, voluntary services cases designed to address the safety needs of the child and enhance child and family well-being;
- Review and approve unit¿s work to ensure the provision of quality family centered services;
- Review practice and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the provision of quality services so as to achieve the goals of safety, permanency and well-being for children and families served by the agency.
Minimum Qualification
Master's Degree in Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology or Criminology from an accredited college/university and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care, and licensure in New Mexico as a Doctoral Level Psychologist, Psychologist Associate, LISW, LMSW, LPC, LPCC, LMHC or LMFT or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
State of New Mexico employees may be impacted by the Public Health Order dated December 19, 2022, which requires facilities licensed or certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ("CMS"), including all hospital types, long-term care facilities, nursing homes, hospice facilities and rehabilitation facilities, as well as assisted living facilities and adult day care settings, to adhere to all COVID-related requirements prescribed by CMS, including, but not limited to masking and staff vaccination.
Work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel is required. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Incumbent will be required to furnish a personal vehicle for carrying out assignments which may include transporting clients including children. Must have own mode of transportation.
